Side-Out Foundation

Why Work with Us?

  • Side-Out is committed to the unification of the sport of volleyball and its alliance with the movement for breast cancer awareness and education.
  • Side-Out’s initiatives involve middle/high school, college, club and professional volleyball players and coaches.
  • Side-Out event initiatives take place all year round:
  • Dig Pink® Breast Cancer Awareness Rallies: Middle/high School and colleges host a volleyball match at their school to promote breast cancer awareness and education.
  • Dig Pink® Tour: Volleyball clubs can commit to community service activities and fundraising during the club season.
  • Tournaments: Tournaments utilize all avenues of volleyball play and competition to include indoor and outdoor events.
  • Camps/Clinics: Coaches can make their camps and clinics Dig Pink® events.  The Side-Out Foundation will also be hosting its own camps and clinics in the near future.
  • Side-Out has a customized suite of Internet-based software that makes team/event fundraising easy.  The Side-Out software can monitor and evaluate each fundraising effort, and also helps in the distribution of funds.
  • Side-Out is not just a charity.  We participate nationally in the breast cancer community, focusing primarily on the following activities and goals:
  • Clinical trials with a focus on translational research.
  • Supporting community breast cancer organizations, bringing together these centers to share ideas with respect to support, treatments and therapies.
  • Holding camps and clinics for volleyball players that not only teach volleyball, but also life skills that aid players during times of adversity.  We also strive to educate them about the importance of “being a coach” to those in need.
  • Assisting the nation’s players and coaches in distributing educational materials to their local communities.
  • Side-Out has a blue-ribbon Board of Directors and Advisors to include NCAA coaches, marketing professionals and Hall of Fame player Sinjin Smith.
  • Side-Out is strongly supported by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
  • Side-Out has a strong relationship with the National Cancer Institute and has an internationally recognized scientific advisory team.
  • The Side-Out Ambassador Program, established in 2011, offers awards and scholarships to those students who show tremendous dedication to the cause. To learn more, visit http://www.side-out.org/ambassador/ or call 877-344-7465.
