Amy joined Side-Out after previously being a parent volunteer with our Foundation since 2010. She successfully ran Dig Pink campaigns at her local high school since 2010, where they continue to be the top fundraising school in the state. She has also worked to spread Dig Pink campaigns to the local clubs and colleges in the area as well. Amy has a background in marketing, public relations and communications as well as a communications degree from Virginia Tech. Amy and her husband live in Maryland and have three daughters who currently play or coach volleyball. Amy has a passion for Side-Out because cancer took her mom from her life too soon and her mom wasn't given "hope" as she fought that battle. She is a strong believer that Side-Out gives cancer fighters and survivors the "hope" needed to fight for more time with their loved-ones.
